The Oasis Townsville Veteran’s Hub is for the Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors (DCDSS), facilitated by The Oasis Townsville, a not-for-profit organisation that assists serving, transitioning, and transitioned defence servicemen, women and families.
Comprising of 7 buildings at 1,386m², the support hub offers veterans and their family’s access to assistance from government, health services, ex-service organisations (ESOs) and community groups. The main administration building, formerly the Department of Primary Industries, has undergone a considerable refurbishment from its defunct foundations. The site has 4 huts, used as offices and leasable spaces for functions and community classes, a café, storage shed and a central landscaped area which includes a large off form concrete gun emplacement style planter and roof structure.
